We are driven by the opportunity to connect empowered women with companies who need their skills, their talent, and their voices. Newsweek’s Laura Shapiro described The Time Bind as. Their comments, support, and analyses served as a reminder that however long it took, we had to get the story told.Īnd here it is. In reviewing The Second Shift (reissued in 2012 with a new afterword) Robert Kuttner noted Hochschild’s subtlety of insights and graceful seamless narrative and called it the best discussion I have read of what must be the quintessential domestic bind of our time. And yet, there were always people out there who would discover it for the first time and fall in love as much as we had. That time period saw weddings, divorces, career changes, and cross-country moves, causing the production schedule to vary from two weeks to sometimes over a year between episodes. Even among the amateur audio theater podcasts of its time, Second Shift was unusual in that it told an ambitious, long-form story with a full cast and no narrator.īetween June of 2006 and July of 2011, Second Shift released 29 episodes and a live "bonus" episode, totaling over 20 hours of full-cast audio theater. While certainly not the first, Second Shift was also among the earliest audio theater projects to eschew traditional radio entirely and focus instead on the relatively new medium of podcasting. It shows in places (all too clearly to the ears of those who made it), but the love is always there. Almost everyone involved started with little or no expertise in whatever their role was on the show (Andrew Schwartz and his audio mastery being a notable exception), but everyone who read the final scene of pilot fell in love with the world and its characters, and wanted to see their stories told, so we learned as we went. More than anything else, though, Second Shift was a labor of love. The premise provides a fantastical framework for what is ultimately a very human tale about the search for purpose, the consequences of actions, and the meaning of "home". But the show was always meant to be, and we like to think it became, something more. If a candidates are not able to appear for the exam on the new dates, they can send an e-mail to mentioning their desired date and roll number. At its most basic level, Second Shift is a story you may have heard before, at least if you move in certain circles: three kids from our world are transported to another, where magic is real, an ancient evil threatens, etc etc. “The question paper for the second shift of the examination could only be uploaded at 5 pm and the download at 489 centres could start at 5:25 pm, while the exam was scheduled to begin from 3 pm,” NTA said.Īccording to the exam conducting agency, the same Admit Card will be valid for the rescheduled exam. As per the official notification, the first shift exam will be conducted on August 12, and that for the second shift has been rescheduled to be held between August 12 and 14, 2022. However, the first shift and the second shift exams will be held next week. NTA claimed that due to “technical issues, several centres were unable to get access to the question papers.” Several centres were not even able to conduct the first shift of the exam due to the same reason. The National Testing Agency (NTA) today cancelled the second shift of the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2022 phase II, which was supposed to begin at 3 pm.
